Around one hundred fans of science programming on WKAR joined us Tuesday night (April 3) for our Preview Event featuring NOVA: Hunting the Elements.

The evening kicked off with a sneak peek at the special 2-hour program airing Wednesday, April 4, at 9pm on WKAR TV-HD/23. Guests also had an opportunity to hear direct from some of the researchers who explore questions about how our world works.

The cast and creators of "Downton Abbey" discuss the characters and storylines. Also: tours of Ealing Studios in London, where the "below stairs" scenes are shot, and Highclere Castle in Berkshire, where most "above stairs" scenes are filmed.

Since we relaunched WKAR.org on the new platform in early February, one thing we heard loud and clear from our site visitors was: "Bring back the old TV schedule."

Storybook characters, performers, authors and storytelling are combined in a way to help kids learn to love reading at a free special event on Sunday, March 18, from 1-4 p.m. The event will take place at Hannah Community Center in East Lansing.

Welcome to our  new WKAR website.

Please take a look around. The transformation from the old to new site will take several days for completion.

When complete, the new design will offer additional ways to watch, listen to, share and engage with WKAR Public Media from Michigan State University.

Thanks for your support!
