WKAR was honored this week with numerous awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters (MAB), including the coveted Public TV Station of the Year award, at the annual MAB Broadcast Excellence Awards ceremony on Wednesday, March 13, in Lansing, Mich.

Eight speakers — educators, creative thinkers, students and adventurers — present their ideas worth spreading as they explore education and creativity in its myriad forms: from texting to canine therapy to the testing of physical limits.

At the MAB Broadcast Excellence Awards in Lansing on Wednesday night, WKAR-TV took home the Public TV Station of the Year award, WKAR-TV and WKAR-FM combined earned nine Broadcast Excellence awards, and WKAR Technical Services Manager Gary Blievernicht was honored with the Carl E. Lee Broadcast Engineering Excellence Award.
