The GOP gains a Senate seat; updates on per-pupil funding cut and the fate of 55 state troopers. The guest is Appropriations Chair Rep. George Cushingberry.

Detroit Democrat George Cushingberry chairs the House Appropriations Committee. He served in the House once before and has his eye on running for the Senate next year. Cushingberry is working to find new revenue to restore some of the $1.2 billion in cuts recently enacted by the House and Senate.

Kathy Barks Hoffman, Jack Spencer and Stephanie Cepak join senior capitol correspondent Tim Skubick.
