Lawmakers get ready to head home for the holiday, what's happening in the Detroit newspaper business and an update on the auto bailout. The guest is lame duck lawmaker Matt Gillard (D), who works on education funding issues. Representative Matt Gillard is a Democrat from Alpena and is finishing his six-year stint in Lansing. As chair of the K-12 Budget Subcommittee, Gillard has been at the forefront of education funding issues. He is an attorney and holds degrees from Albion and a law degree from Wayne State. He serves as Majority Whip for the Democratic caucus and was a key player in last year’s budget deficit debate. Gillard is leaving Lansing at the end of the year as he is term-limited out of work. Chris Christoff, Susan Demas, and Bill Ballenger join senior capital correspondent Tim Skubick. |
