Divorces with no lawyers will be the subject of a three-year test in a pair of mid-Michigan counties.
The Michigan Supreme Court says the goal is to see how an informal docket works in certain domestic relations cases in Gratiot and Clinton counties.
In an order released yesterday, the court says parties will meet with a judge in a conference-style setting. A judge will look at what's been recommended for child custody, parenting time and child support.
Gardeners and farmers are being urged to use pesticides to protect plants from late blight, a fungal disease which can decimate entire crops. It's been found in southwest Michigan this year and experts want to keep it from spreading. Chris Long is with Michigan State University. He says the disease can infect a number of plants, including potatoes and tomatoes. He says gardeners should act now to keep it from spreading.
Lansing, MI – Lansing residents are getting better access to public access media. The City of Lansing is building a new media production facility to replace one which closed several years ago.
Lansing's public access channel has had very little public production, since Comcast closed its Lansing studios in 2007. The city is expected to open new studios later this year in the former Holmes Street School.
