Election 2008: Lansing Area Voters To Decide CATA Millage
On Tuesday, Lansing area voters will decide whether to spend more money on public transportation. The Capital Area Transportation Authority is asking for a millage increase to meet its operating costs. The proposal comes at a worrisome time for taxpayers, who have been buffeted by depressed home values, high unemployment, plunging retirement savings and talk of recession.
