Election 2008: Democrats Hope To Restore Party Unity
Senator Barack Obama returns to Michigan today, just two days after a panel of national Democratic Party leaders awarded him delegates from Michigan -- even though he boycotted the state's presidential primary. His trip occurs one day before the primary season wraps up with the final two contests in South Dakota and Montana.
Party leaders say Obama's trip is a chance to begin rebuilding unity among Democrats and laying to rest any lingering hard feelings over Michigan's delegate controversy.
