Former Congressman Investigates Problems At Walter Reed
There’s been controversy recently over conditions at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, the Army's flagship hospital that treats wounded soldiers returning from Iraq and Afghanistan. In the fallout from the scandal, three senior level military officials have stepped down, including the Army Surgeon General. Defense Secretary Robert Gates appointed a panel to investigate. One of the panelists is former Michigan lawmaker Joe Schwarz. Melissa Ingells spoke with Schwarz recently. He said a major problem was that Walter Reed was supposed to be winding down, not ramping up to take in more wounded.
