Tim Skubick has anchored the weekly public TV series "Off the Record" since 1972 and is the longest serving member of the state capitol press corps. “Off the Record” is seen on Michigan public television stations and has an audience of 100,000 viewers each week.

He also anchors the annual State of the State addresses and other Michigan election and political specials produced by WKAR-TV in East Lansing.

Skubick covers the state capitol for a variety of other media outlets including 66 radio stations through the Michigan Radio Network. He writes a weekly political column for 22 statewide newspapers and is in high demand on the public speaking circuit around the state.

Skubick has done more political broadcasts than any other journalist, print or broadcast, in the state and has been covering Michigan government and politics since 1969. He holds B.A. and M.A. degrees in Broadcast Journalism from Michigan State University.

Tim Skubick's first book, Off the Record, was named a 2004 “Michigan Notable Book.” A second book, See Dick and Jen Run: The 2006 Michigan Race for Governor was published in 2006. He was installed into the Michigan Broadcasters Hall of Fame in 2008.

WKAR-TV produces “Off the Record” and other political specials with Tim Skubick for public stations throughout the state of Michigan, in association with Michigan Public Broadcasting.
