Governor Rick Snyder calls for review of state mental health system

On Wednesday, Governor Rick Snyder ordered a review of how Michigan delivers mental health services. Among other issues, commissions headed by Lt. Governor Brian Calley will focus on how to close the gap for people who need help but end up in jail instead.

Liberal Group Raises Bolger's Business History as Election Issue

A liberal advocacy group is attacking state House Speaker Jase Bolger’s past business record in attempt to damage his shot at re-election. The attack comes while Bolger is in the midst of a separate election fraud investigation. The group Progress Michigan says Bolger’s company avoided paying taxes over the course of three years.

About 2,500 people gathered at Michigan State University Monday afternoon to attend a rally by GOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul. The Texas congressman is not expected to win tomorrow’s presidential primary in Michigan. Most polls have him running well behind Mitt Romney and Rick Santorum. However, Paul does have enthusiastic supporters who intend to vote for him.

Lawmakers expected to approve statewide anti-bullying proposal

LANSING, MI (MPRN) - Michigan is one of just three states without an anti-bullying law to protect students in K-12 schools. The state Legislature is expected to approve a proposal this week that would require all schools to adopt anti-bullying policies.

Experts and students say it's time to have a law in place as bullying in schools becomes a growing concern.
