K-pop’s carefree dance and hip-hop songs provide this energy that transcends language and even cultures, and you can see this in the recent phenomenon of Psy’s “Gangnam Style” song and music video. It’s not uncommon for K-pop stars to sing in Japanese, English, and Mandarin Chinese, and some K-pop stars are not even Korean, like Nichkhun from 2PM who is a Thai-American, Amber from f(x) who is a Chinese-American, and on and on and on, and there are many Korean-Americans in the industry as well.
