Candidates for Lansing Mayor Appear on Listener Call-Ins

WKAR/AM 870 will host two live listener call-in programs, Leading Lansing: Call-Ins with the City’s Mayoral Candidates, this month. The programs offer Lansing voters the opportunity to ask questions of candidates Carol Wood, an at-large Lansing City Councilmember (October 20), and first term mayor, Virg Bernero (October 23). The election will be held on Tuesday, November 3.

Rob South, a WKAR Radio news producer who covers Lansing City Hall, will moderate the call-in programs, which will be aired from 11 a.m. until noon. Phone calls will be accepted at: (517) 355-WKAR (9527) or toll-free at: (877)-WKAR (9527)-870.

Issues facing Lansing’s mayoral candidates include the city’s falling revenues, growing expenditures, infrastructure maintenance, neighborhood outreach, and economic development.

Listeners can also follow the program online live at WKAR.org. The program will be archived for online listening. WKAR Radio’s daily news updates are posted at WKAR.org as well as on the station’s Twitter feed.
