Event Description

“Food insecurity,” “Food Deserts,” “Working Poor.” It’s not a good thing when new terminology is added to our vocabulary because of those in need. But it is a good thing when you can do something to help people in need in our own communities. Getting groceries and food packs to those that need them is one of the things Folk Oil, (your local CITGO marketer) and PS Food Mart Charities has worked on for the last 8 years. The “Fight Hunger. Give Hope campaign has raised over $550,000 and this year, the campaign is ready to roll again, March 5th through the 18th at local PS Food Mart Locations. PS Food Mart is asking for their customer’s help once again during this campaign, to raise funds for the school backpack program in Williamston and the Perry Morrice Shaftsburg Emergency Relief Fund. Customers can go into any PS Food Mart location and “tear a square” to donate $1 or $5 toward this cause. Enthusiastic employees also add to the fun and fundraising with their ideas for each store location. Last year, over $88,000 was raised through this campaign. This year, PS Food Mart hopes to increase that figure so more than a half million meals can be provided. Folk Oil and PS Food Mart Stores are very proud to help each of their communities where the stores are located, raise funds for food needed. There are PS Food Mart Locations in both Perry and Williamston. PS Food Mart customers make the difference in this campaign, and can find our more information at www.psfoodmart.com. Store locations are listed here: In Williamston: In Perry: 420 East Grand River 720 North Main Street
