1929 Kenneth Schermerhorn, American conductor, born in Schenectady.
1937 Rene Kollo, German tenor, born in Berlin.
1941 Gary Karr, American virtuoso on the doublebass, born in Los Angeles. Came from a family of musicians which included seven bass players.
